Location

Smoky Hill River Ranch is a section of ranch/hunting land located only 20 miles southwest of Hays (multitude of motels and restaurants), 12 miles south of Ellis and 10 miles east of Cedar Bluff Reservoir (widely known for its outstanding walleye and crappie fishing) on a paved county road.

Water

The famous Smoky Hill River runs through the north end of the property for approximately a full mile. This river in Kansas is well known for its variety of cotton woods, elm trees, and sand plum thickets that create natural wildlife cover and habitat. There is also a good water well with a submersible pump to provide additional water for the summer livestock that graze the ranch.

Wildlife

Whitetail haven! Smoky Hill River is home to some of the biggest whitetails in Kansas. With ample food and habitat in the area, this property attracts and sustains a big herd of whitetails. Rio Grande Turkeys, coyotes, and bobcats roam this country as well. This property is for the avid outdoorsman!

Land

This property has excellent soils which provides great grass for the livestock that graze this ranch in the summer. The pasture has been very well taken care of in the past and is in great shape. The place checks all boxes; Smoky Hill River, Whitetail Haven, Great Grass, Good Fences, and Excellent water, it has them All! There are four drainages into the Smoky Hill River, as it traverses the northern third of the ranch, each affording wildlife corridors to and from the river.
